BDS in the News

"BDS gave us a way to take the work off our mail server and send large files another way besides via email attachment...I needed a more secure, more logically designed program than FTP or email." – Tom Inglese, IT Manager, Texcel Medical

The new BDS Outlook add-in integrates seamlessly with your mail client and enables users to send files of any size without impacting the Exchange server. Read how Texcel Medical uses BDS to eliminate email attachment file size issues, take the burden off their mail server, and send large 3D modeling and design files to their clients quickly, easily, and securely.

Securing Ad Hoc and Collaborative Data Interactions Webcast - September 25th, 2pm ET

Biscom Delivery Server, The Trusted Solution for Enterprise Secure File Transfer, invites you to learn how major enterprises and organizations effectively use BDS to secure ad hoc and collaborative data interactions that are routinely sent by internal employees transferring sensitive data externally via email attachments, FTP, and overnight delivery services.

Hear how BDS provides a software-only solution to protect your organization against data leaks from these traditional methods of communicating externally to customers, partners, and vendors on a daily basis while leveraging your existing IT infrastructure.See how BDS customers automatically track all transactions and create precise audit reporting to support compliance requirements.

BDS is as simple to use as email so end-users do not require any special application training. Actual case studies of customers will be presented that will showcase examples of how organizations secured and monitored their internal employee ad hoc and collaborative external communications with BDS.

New Technical Brief – Avoiding Large Email Attachments in Exchange

Email can be an IT administrator's biggest challenge. While the pressure to restrict attachment size due to overloading Exchange grows, so does the demand for larger email quotas as users increasingly need to send email attachments. The BDS Outlook add-in provides the best of both worlds. Users can send large attachments from within Outlook but those attachments never hit the Exchange server.

BDS Tech Tip of the Month

A common scenario we've seen is the desire to have a drop box for the technical support group. Customers often must send log files or other documents to the technical support group to help solve their problem. Because multiple support people can work on a customer's issue, and the customer might not know all the people who might work on their issue, it would be convenient to send in their files and give the entire technical support group access to the log files.

To do this, go to the limited sender configuration page, and under Recipient settings, select the radio button for Use default value, and add the individual technical support people into the text field. It's probably a good idea to make this field invisible as well, so people won't see the individual recipients in the send screen. When a customer uploads a file through this interface, all the technical support people will see the delivery in their inbox.

"BDS helps IT provide services that are specific to our business needs. People need to send large files and now we can help them do that. Instead of saying no you can't send that file, it's too large, we now say you can send it with BDS."
Messaging Administrator,
Con-way Inc.

"BDS was an integral part of making the acquisition of Slade's Ferry Bancorp successful, there won't even be a question of how we're going to get the files from another acquisition next time; BDS will be built into the project plan from the start."
